  • Dr. Jack Spitzberg gave a lecture on Cardiac Issues in the Athlete at the Southwest Sports Medicine Symposium. Dr. Spitzberg also served on the Blue Ribbon Panel to help evaluate the 2007 Texas Super Doctors nominees for Texas Monthly magazine.
  • The physicians at CIVA are pleased to announce that CIVA's Non-Invasive Labs in the Dallas, Rockwall and Greenville, Texas offices have received accreditation from ICAEL. Dr. Martin R. Berk, Director of the CIVA Non-Invasive lab said “we at CIVA are proud to receive the ICAEL accreditation of our Resting and Stress Echocardiogram diagnostic technologies and will continue to raise the bar of excellence and service responsiveness for our patients and referring physicians”.
  • Dr. Berk was given a certificate of appreciation by The Mended Hearts, Inc. organization for his informative presentation on "Atherosclorosis and Cardiovascular Disease". Mended Hearts, a national nonprofit organization affiliated with the American Heart Association, offers services to heart patients through visiting programs, support group meetings and educational forums.
  • Dr. Tony Das was the keynote speaker at the Bard Corporation National Sales Meeting. He discussed Unique Deployment Characteristics of Peripheral Stents.
  • The benefits of angioplasty were presented by Dr. Park in a discussion of treatment options for heart disease. As a CIVA specialist, Dr. Park uses angioplasty to improve symptoms from coronary artery disease and to help reduce damage to the heart muscle caused from heart attacks.
